1. Bentley Systems and Topcon Positioning Systems launch today Digital Construction Works, a new company that will close the constructioneering advancement gap. With a staff of digital construction experts, this project will provide digital automation, integration, and “twinning” services around a portfolio of fit-for-purpose software and cloud services, from Topcon, Bentley, and other software vendors, to realize the breakthrough potential of constructioneering for industrializing construction.
2. Bentley Systems Incorporated announced today new capabilities for its industry-leading ProjectWise collaboration platform and comprehensive expansion of its SYNCHRO 4D construction environment. This will imprive the accessibility of BIM and infrastructure design data for organizations of all sizes. With Bentley’s new SYNCHRO cloud services, contractors can 4D-visualize design data and construction models for project and field management, advanced work packaging, and Microsoft HoloLens 2 augmented reality solutions.
3. Bentley Systems bolsters digital cities offerings with the acquisition of Citilabs, a global mobility simulation (CUBE) and analytics (Streetlytics) software provider, and Orbit Geospatial Technologies, global provider of 3D and mobile mapping software. These new technologies, in conjunction with Bentley’s existing design integration and digital cities offerings, enable engineering-based mobility digital twins and help model and assure real-world throughput capacity for proposed and existing roadway assets.
4. Bentley Systems announced today at the Year in Infrastructure their joining the BuildingSMART International community. This association was created with the objective of working more efficiently and collaboratively through digital technologies by creating an international forum for the discussion of BIM processes. Richard Petrie, CEO of buildingSMART International, said, “I am delighted that Bentley has joined buildingSMART International. As one of the major software vendors in our field, Bentley plays a critical role in our community.”
5. Bentley Systems will put their focus on infrastructure for digital cities. Their new initiatives are aimed towards applying digital twins for more efficiently in city and regional for a better connected and resilient infrastructure. These new ventures are iTwin Services, PlantSight (developed jointly with Siemens) and iTwin Immersive Asset Service. With this new technology, users will be able to build digitally before they do physically to plan out and de-risk maintenance activities before they carry them out in the real-world.
