Rail Baltica BIM Implementation Journey So Far
Rail Baltica is an ongoing greenfield rail transport infrastructure project aiming to integrate the Baltic States in the European rail network. This project connects five EU countries – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and indirectly also Finland with a new, fast, double-track, fully electrified railway line with a maximum design speed of 249 km/h and European standard 1435 mm gauge. It is the largest infrastructure project in the Baltic region over the past 100 years. The central coordinator for the Rail Baltica Global project is RB Rail AS, the joint venture established in 2014 by the Republics of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
In this masterclass, Raitis Bušmanis, the Head of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) of RB Rail AS will share their first experiences on how the developed BIM documents and requirements were perceived by the market players and supply chain.
