The company Willmott Dixon incorporates the Dalux BIM application in all its projects
The UK construction and property services company, Willmott Dixon, has introduced a BIM model management application to all its projects. The company wants consultants, supply chain employees and customers to use the app during projects.
Dalux BIM Viewer is a free application that allows the sharing and operation of hundreds of BIM models, whether large, small or complex, and the option to view the drawings at the same time. This viewer can read over 700 IFC files and Revit models. The objective of this BIM viewer is to manage the quality control of the works of a project through the augmented reality of the system. In the case of Willmott Dixon, it has already been introduced and its response has been positive.
Among the features of the app are: the arrangement of 170 million square meters of BIM on your system, direct or plug-in loading of files from Revit, Navisworks and ArchiCAD, the combination of 2D drawings and 3D models and as a measurement.
Willmont Dixon director Tim Carey says that even those workers less familiar with the technology have been able to use the application without problems. For Construction Pros stated, "The biggest advantages are the simplicity of the user interface, the speed with which design models can be loaded into the system, the system's ability to work on almost all hardware released in the last 2-3 years, and the ability to have an increased workplace reality on the work face. He added, "This helps our drives significantly improve the quality of our products and site productivity.
