Friends in the BIMcommunity,

As Chairman of BILT Europe, I know many of you followed the updates our good friends here at BIMcommunity brought during our BILT Europe Conference in 2017 that took place in October in Aarhus, Denmark – and that some of you were part of the 397 delegates from 33 countries that experienced more than 100 hours of top-notch BIM learning provided by more than 70 speakers.

For those of you unfamiliar with BILT, is an annual event, run in multiple regions around the globe, designed to cater to the needs of those who design, build, operate and maintain our built environment. As a community of professionals, it is dedicated to improving the way industry works together.

WE BELIEVE THAT

Technology is an enabler of better processes and outcomes, not a driver in and of itself.

  • Our industry has failed to keep pace with others in productivity and innovation, but that provides clear opportunities for improvement.
  • Our industry is siloed, fractured and too often adversarial; but we wish to play a role in changing this by bringing people together from different backgrounds to learn from each other.
  • Getting people to change behaviours is the hardest part of any change.

As an educational and networking event, BILT provides a variety of opportunities to learn and share, to probe and challenge, to listen and to be heard. Our sessions focus on the use of best-in-class tools, processes and workflows, behaviours and leadership.

BILT is a unique, independent conference and community.

Whether you are a practitioner or consumer of BIM, DE, VDC; whether your projects are buildings or infrastructure; whatever your preferred technology; whatever your role in the lifecycle of the built environment; we want to help you, your firm and wider industry become more effective, more impactful and more productive. No other event brings so many opportunities and benefits together in a single location.

As a 'by users, for users' event, BILT is the best place to get unvarnished advice from the people who really know their stuff, yet continue to learn themselves. Business leaders, thought leaders, innovators and implementers; they are all part of our community and ready to share their secrets (okay, some of their secrets...) to aid in the quest for a better, smarter industry, and a stronger, more sustainable built environment.

As a not-for-profit foundation, we are truly ‘by-users-for-users’ driven and we put this together in our ‘spare time’ because we are passionate about the digitization of the built environment. That also means we rely on your bright ideas, passion and heart to create the best possible learning and networking experience.

WE ARE NOW SEEKING ABSTRACTS FROM INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN SPEAKING AT BILT EUROPE 2018 – AND OUR CALL FOR ABSTRACTS ENDS ON SUNDAY JANUARY 28TH @ 23:59 GMT.

You can read the full list of criteria here but essentially we ask you to provide your idea for a 75 minute class in 500 words or less.

We are looking for innovative case studies, utilization of software solutions, smart workflows and processes and management paradigms. We also have tracks dedicated to API’s and development along with classes that focus on business strategy and Open BIM. So if you are an engaging presenter with a willingness to share your knowledge and ready to embrace the community and have a relevant topic – we look very much forward to hearing from you.

Now that you have made it this far – why don’t you head over to (http://www.rtcevents.com/bilt/eur18/call-for-abstracts/) and get started.

You are also more than welcome to reach out to me personally on [email protected]

I hope to see many of you at BILT Europe 2018 that takes which will be in the gorgeous capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana from October 11th to 13th

Sincerely,
