Catalonia promotes digital public works with BIM 2030

The Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia has taken a decisive step in modernizing the construction sector with the approval of its BIM 2030 Strategy. This plan represents a strong commitment to digitalization and sustainability in public works, setting a horizon of innovation in infrastructure and building development.

A Key Boost for Digitalization and Sustainability

The Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology is at the heart of this transformation, establishing itself as an essential tool to enhance efficiency, transparency, and collaboration at all stages of construction projects. Currently, 80% of the projects awarded by the Generalitat already incorporate BIM, with a total value exceeding 1.115 billion euros. With this new strategy, the adoption of this methodology is expected to expand comprehensively in the coming years, cementing a structural shift in how infrastructures are conceived and developed in Catalonia.
