Barcelona will host the 4th European BIM Summit the next 8th and 9th of March 2018
This year, EBS18 will analyze the set of German-speaking countries, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein
The Col·legi d'Aparelladors, Arquitectes Tècnics i Enginyers d'Edificació de Barcelona (CAATEEB), BIM Academy and buildingSMART Spain, will host the 4th European BIM Summit (EBS) to be held in AXA Auditorium in Barcelona on March 8 and 9 of 2018 as one of the greatest internationally events of the digitalization of construction.
The contents of the papers will focus on the contribution of BIM on the techniques and processes that impacts in the digital construction field through collaborative models and its virtualization of each phase of a building and an infrastructure life-cycle. This year we will be able to know first-hand experiences developed in 6 German speaking countries of Europe as guests of this edition. There will be a special focus on the changes that brings to the construction economy, a sector increasing its specific weight in Europe once its implementation is reached. This summit has already held three editions, with more than 200 speakers from 40 countries and 2000 participants in its past editions with guest countries as United Kingdom and France.
The first day of the 4th EBS (8/3) will be dedicated to the BIM present. Τherefore, the experiences, the Case Studies and the BIM Strategies that have been captured until now in an international level will be analyzed and explained from high level speakers as Ilka May, Shuguang Wang, Rasso Steinmann and Tom Hardiman from the building, infrastructure and facility management sector.
The second day (9/3) is dedicated to the BIM Future. The digital transformation of the AEC Sector, the Robotics and the Virtual Reality technology will be analyzed by experienced speakers from FINALCAD, Daqri and Shadow Ventures.
Patrick Macleamy, the founder and chairman of buildingSMART International will open and close the Summit’s presentations adding value commenting the changes in the architecture, engineering and construction sector internationally.
