India is one of the countries that have worked very hard for the implementation of BIM. According to this article, the AECO sector is the second largest industry after agriculture and employs more than 35 million people. Aware of this scenario, current governmental initiatives such as Make in India are helping to grow the investment in the field and to increase the number of mega projects that are being undertaken across the whole country. With the aim to be faster and more productive, the Government has persuaded the use of BIM because of its ability to reduce project time delays, cost overrun and litigations. Because of that, it is essential to bring together Indian AECO industry and education community to learn and spread BIM technologies and processes in Indian AECO projects, besides helping the Indian AECO industry to grow.

But, how is the current state of BIM right now? To explore this interesting topic, BIMCommunity will collaborate with the India BIM Online Summit, organized by Zigurat Global Institute of Technology. The event, that will take place on August 20, offers a unique chance for those in India to reflect the current state of BIM in the country and in the future projects.

Top BIM leaders of the sector like Amarnath CB (Founder of IBIMA), Dan Rossiter (Senior BIM Communicator at BRE), Issam El-Absi (General Manager CCC - BIM Center), K.P. Reddy (Founder at BuiltTech Labs & Shadow Ventures) o Richard Petrie (International Chief Executive - buildingSMART), will share their expertise in the field and interact with all the attendees of the event. Alexandra Ramirez, Director of BIMCommunity, will present the BIMCo India community and how the Indian citizens can join one of the largest BIM social platform worldwide.
