Last trends of the AECO sector

Published: 07/02/2020

A few weeks ago, we celebrated the dawn of a new decade. Looking back, the last 10 years have truly marked the manifestation of the digital built environment. BIM is no longer a niche just for 'geeks', but an instrumental part of our deliveries. We can be proud of the advantages we have made since modelling was primarily about modelling 3D. And whilst the adaptation is still significant, our ability to apply technology to create value for people and the planet is growing at an unprecedented pace.

If you've been pondering what the new year will bring, ask yourself what inspirational and innovative insights can I share with my industry peers at BILT Europe during Digital Built Week. Perhaps you've cracked the code on deploying a new technology in your firm to unlock tangible value for your colleagues. Or maybe you applied new methodologies to organise work streams in the office. In any case, we would love to hear your ideas. Our abstract submissions for Europe are still open!

What's involved?

Being part of the Digital Built abstract is simply a short one-pager outlining your idea; so that we can get an understanding of what you want to present. With different formats available, you can choose to conduct the conference in a group discussion, computer assisted or regular presentation. The minimum duration for a session is 75 minutes, but you may need more time to adequately present. Which is why we offer 150 minutes sessions as part of our 'standard' option. There's plenty of topics you can choose from if you're struggling on an idea. However we do prioritise specific subjects every year.

Case Studies and Projects

Being part of the Digital Built Week experience is always about sharing passion and inspiration. Given the recent developments we've seen in Spain, we would love to be able to create a track dedicated to sharing local stories and case studies of what worked and what didn't work on your projects that delegates from other countries can be inspired by.

Sustainability

We're a firm believer in pushing our industry to contribute solutions to the climate crisis which our politicians seem so inadequate in addressing. Let our 2020 conference be the year where we show tangible solutions to real problems. We want to see solutions that addresses the planetary footprint our industry has; no contribution is too small; no contribution is too ambitious. Our industry affects every individual on the planet. Let's do our part to turn the tide for future generations!
