What:

Representatives of Bentley Systems and other industry experts will reveal how infrastructure professionals can use digital twins to overcome infrastructure challenges and empower sustainable development goals during the inaugural Infraweek Europe. The four-day virtual event, from June 6 to June 9, will feature consultants speaking to attendees in England, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Spain in their local languages. These presentations will demonstrate how infrastructure digital twin solutions will be an essential enabler and accelerator in transforming all infrastructure types—from transportation and mobility, to energy, water, and utilities, and to the environment and sustainability. Part of the discussion will focus on challenges industry professionals face, including aging infrastructure, shrinking workforces, environmental issues, and safety.

With regard to the environment, infrastructure construction and operations account for more than 70% of all global greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, infrastructure assets will require extraordinary adaptation and modification to reduce their carbon footprint and make our communities more resilient. Low-emission, climate-resilient pathways require no less than an unprecedented transformation of our infrastructure. These presentations will explain how digital twin technology can help improve the performance of infrastructure assets and mitigate the effects of climate change.
