Description
Solutions and Execution:
The client hired us to develop a coordinated 3D BIM Model with LOD 500 of Qatar University for Sports & Events Complex starting from Design Development Stage.
Our project engineers studied the hand-drawings & conceptual sketches, PDF as well as CAD files provided by the client and integrated all disciplines like architectural, structural & MEP of the Qatar University and Sports complex. Revit was been used as a tool for modelling the same. MaRS had been highly successful in making changes throughout the project starting from design stage to final stage as well as have accomplished a successful implementation of the same.
Once the initial designing was finalized, our team precisely looked after the coordination between various models for the detection of clashes with the use of tools such as Navisworks and scrutinized and rectified all the clashes for a smooth and effective on ground implementation.
Finally, we delivered a 3D BIM LOD 500 model with Construction Document/Shop Drawings. Throughout the entire process, our BIM manager was deployed onsite to monitor the successful execution of project within specific and defined timeline. Our placed onsite manager got approval by “ASTAD” project management at Qatar and was responsible for maintaining a smooth flow of communication between onsite team and the offshore team.
Benefits:
MaRS has helped Architects and Consultants in visualizing the design from the initial or the starting phase by creating early stage design models.
The provided BIM model helped the client in detecting and mitigating clashes at an early stage.
This helped in saving time as well as incurring costs to a huge extent by eliminating reworks as well as onsite clashes.
This helped in increasing safety in managing public-business infrastructure as well as in reducing overall time with the help of project estimates.
With our efforts the profitability was increased due to waste reduction with a precise quantitative material take off plans. Thus, we could make the overall construction process effective, seamless, coordinated and error free.
A model free of clashes, along with reduced cost was built within the desired time limit with the coordination of the team at MaRS.
