DESCRIPTION
Atkore is currently searching for a Sr. BIM Designer for its Harvey, IL location that will report to our Director, Codes & Standards. Harvey is a suburb located 30 miles south of downtown Chicago.
This individual will be the subject matter expert for all Revit and AutoCAD BIM design and modeling. They will be responsible for planning, creating, coordinating, designing and the completion of a complete BIM object library for all Atkore product lines. They will provide critical design support to internal and external customers. They will work with cross function teams on innovation projects. They will provide leadership and mentor other BIM designers.
Responsibilities include:
• BIM Modeling, design, and drafting
• Coordinate and manager Revit models
• Create / Modify / Update Revit families
• Provide prompt and accurate progress status reports on a regular and consistent basis to supervisor and project team members
• Review all work for errors and mistakes prior to releasing as complete
• Create, maintain, and follow standard work/check lists to ensure consistency and quality of work on every project
• Meet or exceed deliverable timelines
• Identify training opportunities and areas for improvement based on day to day experiences and exposure to various projects
• Develop complete system designs in REVIT for contractors under their direction
• Drive other projects as needed
Requirements:
Qualifications: • AS, BS, or MS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, computer sciences), Architecture, or similar building design profession • 5+years’ professional experience in Revit with at least 2 years of full time Revit experience • CAD Experience • Ability to create and modify Revit Families • Ability to manipulate and adapt to files created by others • Must be able to take direction and perform efficiently • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and oral. Additional Qualifications: • Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or Electrical industry preferred. • An advanced degree is preferred
