[SEMINAR] BIM drawingless execution - the case of Randselva bridge

Randselva bridge is a 634-meter-long cantilever concrete bridge being built without drawings. It’s based solely on BIM-models, which makes it the world's largest bridge built without drawings. In this masterclass, Wiktor Rybus, the IM/VDC Coordinator for the contractor of the project, will share with the audience his perspective of working on a project of such dimensions based solely on BIM models.

The bridge is a seven-span concrete box structure more than 630m long that will form part of the E16 highway and has been designed and built on behalf of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens Vegvesen). The main span is going to reach almost 200m and the height of 55m over the ground. The BIM-model contains over 200,000 rebars and 250 post-tensioning cables and 95% of all information is transferred to the contractor with the IFC files.
The Randselva bridge project won the Global BIM Tekla Award 2020 in the Best BIM Project and the Best Infrastructure Project categories.
